Treatment of Uncomplicated Chlamydia Trachomatis

  • azithromycin 1g single dose 1,2,3
  • doxycycline 100mg bd for a week 1,2,3 (or 200mg once - daily) - take with food and take sun-precautions

Single-dose azithromycin and seven days of doxycycline have been shown to be equally effective (98%) in a meta-analysis of randomised trials for the microbiological elimination of Chlamydia.
