Self-Sampling
Self-sampling is a simple process involving the self-collection of a sample by a patient. It is
non-invasive and not embarrassing as the patient collects the sample themselves, while also being a more convenient and accessible option. The collection kit is simple and user friendly. The collecting of the sample may be performed in the privacy of the patient's home.
Self-sampling may help overcome barriers such as cultural and religious backgrounds, geographic restraints, and the sometimes invasive nature of a genital or pelvic clinical examination that prevent patients from presenting for testing.
